Efforts to revitalise the Malay language in the globalisation era and the dominance of English in education and communication face significant challenge. Through research, literary works play a role as a medium to revitalise Malay language, and said efforts will be made as an objective within the context of education as well as shaping the cultural identity. Held at the Language and Literature Bureau on 2nd February morning, the 'Tamu Bahasa' was part of the language-related initiatives in enlivening the Language Month 2025 celebration.
Present was Awang Suip bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Acting Director of Language and Literature Bureau. Over 80 people took part in the event that was held with the aim of gaining support and involvement from various parties in disseminating knowledge and strengthening the Malay language as the country's official language. Other goals included discussing current issues pertaining to the Malay language, new terminology and Jawi writing as defining elements of the Malay identity, and raise awareness on the importance of said language. The event included a question and answer session, and certificate presentation to the executive speakers as well as chairperson.
